1,5-Pentanediol (PDO) is Colorless viscous liquid with a bitter taste. Can be miscible with water, low molecular weight alcohols, and acetone. Insoluble in benzene, dichloromethane, and petroleum ether. Dissolve 11% in ether at 25 ºC.
