1. Triisobutyl phosphate is a common organic phosphate compound. It has low toxicity and good chemical stability and is widely used in many fields. Triisobutyl phosphate is often used as a plasticizer for plastics.
It can be compatible with polymers and enhance their softness, ductility and impact resistance. Triisobutyl phosphate is often added to plastics such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polypropylene (PP), polycarbonate (PC) to prepare soft plastic products such as wires and cables, plastic films, pipes and plastic packaging materials.
2. Triisobutyl phosphate is also used as a solvent in organic synthesis. With its low vapor pressure and good polar solvent properties, it can effectively dissolve many organic compounds, especially those that are not easily soluble in water.
